Auto-pintagging feature available
Böxie presents auto-pintagging, an innovative feature designed to streamline the creation of interactive educational materials. This tool automates the process of adding pins, tags, annotations, and rich resources to videos and PDFs, saving educators time and effort. With a single click from the Creation Assistant, auto-pintagging segments content into easy-to-digest sections, provides concise summaries, and adds relevant links to delve deeper into the topics covered. This feature enables student comprehension and learning by offering richer and more structured materials and can be considered as a starting point for generating self-assessment tasks from the generated materials.

Automatic scrolling of pins and tags
We have introduced a small new feature in video playback. From today, the pins and tags in the side area will automatically scroll and zoom in slightly when the video reaches their timestamp, positioning themselves in a visible area to reference exactly what is being viewed at that precise moment.

Clone Assignments
Assignments can now be cloned! This means if you need to make a copy of an assignment, for example, to send it to another group or to copy an assignment from a previous course, you no longer need to start the process from the beginning. Instead, you can click on the menu of an already created assignment in the assignment dashboard. In the case of auto-graded assignments, the copy is presented with the questions unselected, allowing you to choose different questions if you wish (for example, considering different groups or adjusting the difficulty of the original assignment). The copies of assignments are placed right next to the originals.

Editing pin and tag content
Thanks to an improvement implemented today, when accessing your own video or PDF, the pins and tags already created in the side panel are displayed in “view” mode, making it easier to view the entire content of that specific pin or tag, in addition to hiding the Insert, Edit, and Format buttons that appeared at the top of each one. In this way, what the user who created the resource sees on the screen is the same as what those with whom it has been shared see. To edit the content of a pin or tag, simply click on any part of the content of the pin or tag and the edit mode of that pin or tag will be activated, showing the corresponding buttons.

New autograded underlining questions are now available for assignments
New autograded underlining questions are now available from both videos and PDFs. From now on, students will be able to directly underline the correct answer to each question by means of tags, which, as in other Böxie activities, involve highlighting an idea, a concept or, in this case, an answer to identify it. In this way, we encourage students to pay attention to what they are answering as they underline. The score, as in all auto-graded assignments, is also automatic, visible to students upon completion and can be obtained either through the assignment itself or the report that is generated from the assignment options.

Estonian language availability
We have added the Estonian language to those available on our platform, both for managing the user interface and for processing videos with AI, generating self-assessment activities, and activating the content comprehension component. With this new language, there are now 8 languages allowed in Böxie: Spanish, English, Portuguese, Estonian, Catalan, and Basque.

Importing and working with PDF documents
We have added the PDF format to our platform to be able to make annotations on PDFs and create both generic and self-assessable assignments. To achieve this, we have updated the import button, which now allows selecting between video and PDF. Likewise, a new gallery called “My PDFs” has been created below the “My Videos” gallery, quickly accessible from the application menu. Assignments generated in PDF are managed from the Task Manager and are identified with a red triangle instead of the yellow triangle that indicates video assignments.

New pins and tags editor
The small wysiwyg editor used to write pins and tags has been completely revamped, including many new features such as new formatting options (underline, italics, etc.), line spacing, alignment, emojis, tables, etc. The insertion of media (YouTube videos, Genially presentations, etc.) within the pins and tags has been improved, allowing for previewing the interactive thumbnail view, expanding to full screen from the same thumbnail, and occupying 100% of the width of the window that appears when the automatic pause is activated.

Automatically assessed tasks with text response
We have activated a new type of self-assessable task called “Write your response”, meaning students will have to respond in natural language (in their own words) to the questions asked. Just like in the previous assessable tasks (now called “Underline your answers”), the teacher will have to choose which questions to ask the students from those proposed by Artificial Intelligence. Students will be able to move to the right in the form and back to the left to review their answers. Finally, they will press the “close and evaluate” button, and the task will be corrected, offering a score and feedback (if configured by the teacher).

Automatically assessed tasks now offer feedback
If the teacher selects the option “show score” (which is marked by default) when creating a self-assessable task, students, in addition to the score, will receive feedback on those incorrectly answered questions with information on what they have gotten wrong.

Add more questions to those suggested by the AI
Adding more questions to those suggested by Böxie is now possible. Once the task has been processed and with the questions suggested by Böxie at the forefront, the teacher can press the “Add Question” button to insert any additional questions and their respective answers that they deem appropriate.

Displaying Score and Feedback
The “Display Score” option that appears when selecting questions for automatically assessed tasks is now, by default, enabled. We have decided to do this because we believe it is important for the student to receive feedback on their work immediately after submission. Additionally, now the student also receives feedback on questions they have answered incorrectly, so this valuable information would not be shown if the “Display Score” option were disabled.
However, it is always possible to deactivate it before launching the task to prevent students from knowing their score immediately, for example, in an “assessment test” situation, when the teacher wishes to prevent students from sharing information that could help those who have not yet submitted the task.

Embed Canva content
From today, it is possible to insert Canva content directly as a pop-up window. Canva.com is a very intuitive design tool that allows you to create any type of graphics, presentations, and even videos or animated images from pre-made templates. With the latest integration, we have made it possible for any public link to a design created in Canva to be embedded directly into the content of a pintagged video by using the “window mode” option found in the pin or tag menu wherever you want to place it. This way, when the pin is reached or the tag begins, whatever you have inserted in window mode will open in a large frame in the middle of your video, which will pause. It will also be possible to expand it to full screen using the options at the top of the frame
To extract the “public link” of any Canva design, simply click on Share > Create a public view link and copy the URL it generates. Keep in mind that if you delete the generated public link in the future, the window in window mode will provide a broken link as it won’t be able to find the original.

Now all assignments are shared from the Assignment Manager.
We have simplified the way to share videos and assignments. Now, all assignments are managed through the “Task Manager” in the main menu, accessible by clicking on the profile picture.
You can convert any video into an assignment directly from the video itself or from the video card in “My Videos.” If you want to share the video as it is, without students having to edit their own copy, use the option in “My Videos.” But if you want students to work on the video as an assignment, you should do it through the “Assignment Manager.”
To make this process easier, when creating an assignment from “My Videos,” the system will automatically redirect you to the “Task Manager.”

Automatically Assessable Tasks Now Available
WWe have activated the autograded questions. Now, when creating a assignment you can choose between generic assignments (the ones we have always had) and the autograded questions, which consist of Böxie, our AI, generating from a resource several comprehension questions, the teacher will select which ones he wants the students to answer, and they will have to underline the correct answer.
